Ingredients:

  • 7 croissants, halved
  • 500ml FIRST CHOICE milk
  • 3 eggs
  • salt and black pepper for seasoning
  • 5ml smoked paprika
  • 200g cooked, chopped bacon
  • 1 onion, sliced and saluted until golden brown
  • 250ml FIRST CHOICE Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 110g FIRST CHOICE Brie, sliced (you can add 200g if you like it richer)
  • fresh thyme for sprinkling

Preparation method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease and line (with baking paper) a 24 cm loose bottomed cake tin.
  2. Mix the milk and eggs together to make the egg custard. Season with the salt, pepper and smoked paprika.
  3. Cut the croissants in half with a breadknife.
  4. Place the halved croissants in a dish and pour over the egg custard.
  5. Place half of the soaked croissants in the lined cake tin.
  6. Sprinkle over the bacon, cheese and onion.
  7. Add the brie slices and fresh thyme.
  8. Top with the rest of the soaked croissants halves.
  9. Bake ±30 minutes in the preheated oven.
  10. Cool for 15 minutes and remove from the cake tin.
  11. Place on a platter. Add more bacon and baby tomatoes to serve!Enjoy!
